CHICAGO – State Rep. Fran Hurley is encouraging residents to put on their dancing shoes for a fun night of line dancing on Monday, July 18 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Lake Katherine Nature Center & Botanic Gardens in Palos Heights.

“As part of our Mental Health Monday series, we saw this as a fun, easy going activity that friends and family could do together,” Hurley said. “Perfect for beginners, line dancing is a healthy activity that relieves stress, creates smiles and brings people together.”

July 18’s free class will be held in the Bridget O’Malley Auditorium, toward the back of the nature center’s main complex. Matt Klukis will be the lead instructor, and will conduct a one-hour class teaching three different line dances. Advance registration is required. Interested participants should call Hurley’s office at 773-445-8128 to reserve a spot. Space is limited.

Hurley is co-hosting the event with state Sen. Bill Cunningham and state Rep. Kelly Burke.
