COLLINSVILLE, Ill. – State Rep. Katie Stuart, D-Edwardsville, is partnering with ImpactLife to encourage blood donations. Stuart will hold a community blood drive at American Legion Post 365, 1022 Vandalia St. in Collinsville on Tuesday, June 28 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
“Donated blood is a critical component of our healthcare system’s ability to care for those in need,” Stuart said. “Giving blood is an easy way to have a positive impact on your community, especially in summer when we typically see a drop in the rate of donations. I’m proud to partner with ImpactLife to help save lives and I encourage anyone thinking of donating blood to do it—you never know whose life you may be saving.”
No appointment is needed to donate, but those wishing to reduce wait times can register at https://login.bloodcenter.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/108051. Appointments usually take 10-20 minutes.
