AURORA, Ill. – Continuing her commitment to community engagement and animal rights, state Rep. Barbara Hernandez, D-Aurora, is holding an Animal Shelter Donation Drive from May 9th through May 31st. Drop off locations are at her office at 540 W. Galena in Aurora and the Endiro Coffee shop at 29 W. New York in Aurora.

“The good people working to give Aurora’s stray animals a home need all the resources they can get to support the dogs, cats and other strays a happy, healthy life,” Hernandez said. “We need dog and cat toys, paper towels, bleach, kitty litter, dog food and a number of other supplies. I know our community will come out to support such a worthy cause.”

Anyone interested in donating to Aurora Animal Care and Control can drop off supplies at Hernandez’s office Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. or the Endiro Coffee shop Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. or on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Items needed include high-quality dry dog food, canned and dry kitten food, non-clumping cat litter, soft dog treats, plain ice cream cones, durable dog toys, cat toys, paper towels, bleach, disinfecting wipes, powder dishwasher soap and dog buckle collars. Monetary donations are welcome as well.
