PEORIA, Ill. – State Rep. Jehan Gordon-Booth, D-Peoria, will join Superintendent Dr. Sharon Desmoulin-Kherat, Board of Education President Gregory Wilson and Board of Education Vice-President Martha Ross Thursday afternoon to announce new state investment aimed at supporting fine arts programming at Peoria Public Schools – including funding for a new audio, visual and digital production space and pathway.
“It’s important that we’re giving our children the opportunity to explore different career paths and experience different forms of art they enjoy,” Gordon-Booth said. “This funding will allow students to get hands-on experience with professional equipment for modern audio production, graphic design and content creation. It will be a great new learning experience here in Peoria.”
Peoria Public Schools is in line to receive $1.5 million to support the initiative. For more information on Thursday’s press conference, please contact RepJGordon@gmail.com or Thomas.Bruch@psd150.org.
