BOLINGBROOK, Ill. – To encourage civic engagement in the 85th representative district, state Rep. Dagmara “Dee” Avelar, D-Bolingbrook, is offering two opportunities for community members to learn about state government.
“It’s always the right time to start pursuing a path in public service,” said Avelar. “I am constantly inspired by the passion and enthusiasm of our community, and I hope that community members choose to share these attributes with my office.”
Summer internships are open to any individual with an interest in state government or social work. Two internship tracks are available. The general internship duties include district research and constituent casework.
