SHOREWOOD, Ill. – State Rep. Larry Walsh, Jr., D-Elwood, is joining Troy Township and Versiti Blood Center of Illinois to offer a community blood drive Thursday, Feb. 17 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Troy Township Community Center, located at 25448 W. Seil Rd. in Shorewood.
“Blood donation is critically important to our health care system, and we have to make sure anyone who needs blood is able to get it,” Walsh said. “This saves lives. If you’re able donate, we would greatly appreciate your help.”

Residents can also call Versiti at 1-800-786-4483 to schedule. Walk-in donations will also be accepted, but residents should anticipate a greater wait time.
Those who intend to donate are encouraged to eat a healthy meal and drink plenty of water before donating.
