COLLINSVILLE, Ill. – To assist individuals in need this winter, state Rep. Katie Stuart, D-Edwardsville, is partnering with Making a Difference to host a Cold Weather Clothing Drive throughout December.
“Illinois winters can be very harsh, and without the proper protection, they can be dangerous,” said Stuart. “The donations will be distributed to children and adults who need help preparing for this winter in the community. Thank you to Making A Difference for the work they do to help combat homelessness and help families in need in our community.”
Stuart is in partnership with the non-profit organization, Making a Difference, whose mission is to focus on addressing homeless and helping families in need in our community. Stuart is asking for donations of coats, gloves, hats and scarves. It is asked that all donated items be lightly used or new. Donations can be brought to Stuart’s office located at 2105 Vandalia St., Unit #16 in Collinsville, and a complete list of drop-off locations can be found here.
“It is the time of year when everyone is bringing out their winter clothes so I encourage those with unwanted clothes to donate to this cause,” continued Stuart. “Having the proper winter attire is important, a simple donation for one person may make a huge difference to another.”
