BOLINGBROOK, Ill. – State Rep. Dagmara “Dee” Avelar, D-Bolingbrook, wants residents to express their ideas on legislative issues for the upcoming session in January.

“This year, my colleagues and I passed a lot of meaningful legislation that will help many Illinoisans. Every day, we encounter problems and think of possible solutions,” Avelar said. “As state representatives, we aspire to pass legislation that will benefit our communities, either economically, through social programs, or by improving the state’s infrastructure.”

Avelar invites residents to share their thoughts on any laws they would like to see passed this upcoming session. Bill ideas can also be sent to Avelar’s district office through email at info@repdagmara.org or by calling the office at 815-372-0085.

“It is important to be involved in your state government through voicing your concerns and ideas. We never want to exclude our residents from the legislative process because laws are meant to positively impact them,” Avelar said. “I am looking forward to having these conversations to better represent our community in Springfield.”

The deadline for bill ideas is Dec. 17th, 2021.
