WEST CHICAGO, Ill. – To encourage residents to shop locally this holiday season, state Rep. Maura Hirschauer, D-Batavia, is highlighting Small Business Saturday as an opportunity to reinvest in the community and small businesses.
“Since our small businesses have faced so many obstacles over the past year, it is essential to continue to support them this holiday season,” Hirschauer said. “Small Business Saturday gives residents the opportunity to keep their money in their own community and support local entrepreneurs and business owners.”
Small Business Saturday is held on the Saturday following Thanksgiving every year to ensure that shoppers can dedicate a day to support small, local businesses as the holiday shopping season ramps up. This year, Small Business Saturday will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021. To find out more about Small Business Saturday, Hirschauer is encouraging residents to reach out to their local chambers of commerce.
“Whether you support small businesses online or in person, shopping small is an investment in your local community,” Hirschauer said. “I encourage everyone to consider supporting your local businesses and restaurants to celebrate the impact they have on the community.”
