BOLINGBROOK, Ill. – As part of the ongoing efforts to reduce COVID-19 transmissions and the flu this holiday season, state Rep. Dagmara “Dee” Avelar, D-Bolingbrook, is partnering with the VNA Health Care clinic and the Bolingbrook Promenade to provide free vaccinations. The event will be held Sunday, Nov. 14, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at 623 E. Boughton Rd., Ste 135 in Bolingbrook, across the street from the CG’s Comedy Club.
“Every winter we increase the risk of transmission of colds, the flu and now COVID-19 due to everyone gathering in enclosed spaces. We are almost two years into the pandemic and we have lost many lives, but I am hopeful that we can overcome this,” Avelar said. “The health experts have shown us that vaccines work, so I highly encourage everyone to get vaccinated to protect yourselves and those around you in order to make our community safe again.”
The COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine will be available for those 12 and older and the annual Flu shot will be available for those age 4 and over. All individuals 17 and under must have a parent/guardian present to receive the vaccine.
