Naperville, Ill. – State Rep. Janet Yang Rohr, D-Naperville, in partnership with state Rep. Terra Costa Howard, D-Lombard, and state Sen. Laura Ellman, D-Naperville, will host an Environmental Town Hall to discuss the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act on Tuesday, Nov. 2 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. via Zoom.
“The Climate and Equitable Jobs Act was a collaborative effort among legislators, activists and stakeholder groups,” said Yang Rohr. “Likewise, informing and educating residents on the impact of the act is also a collaborative process. I am honored to work with these leaders to continue the work of this landmark legislation.”
Major components of the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act include protecting the planet and public health, holding utilities accountable, expanding consumer protections and creating carbon-free jobs to bolster the economy. This Town Hall will discuss those components in greater detail so residents are informed about the law’s direct effects on the 41st District and surrounding communities.
“Members of our community made their voices heard throughout the legislative process and helped guide my negotiations on our community’s behalf,” said Yang Rohr. “I invite every community member to join us for this town hall, learn about the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act and make their voices heard once again.”
