CHICAGO, Ill. – To help residents feel safer in their neighborhoods, state Rep. Fran Hurley, D-Chicago, is hosting a Burglary Prevention Seminar on October 25 at 6:30 pm.

“It’s important that people not only feel safe where they live, but also feel confident in what to do to minimize the chances of becoming a victim of a crime,” said Hurley. “This seminar is a time for people to learn from crime specialists on the best ways to protect their home and families.”

The Burglary and Prevention Seminar will take place on Monday, October 25 at 6:30pm at 115 Bourbon Street Restaurant, located at 3359 W. 115th st, Merrionette Park. The seminar is co-hosted with state Senator Bill Cunningham, D-Chicago, and will have crime specialists available to give tips on home security and ways to minimize your risk of becoming a victim. Since the event will be held indoors, masks will be required. The event is free and open to the public.

“You can never be too prepared for anything,” continued Hurley. “I encourage all who are available to come to the seminar and learn from specialists on ways to protect yourself and your family.”
