EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – State Rep. Katie Stuart, D-Edwardsville, recently collected diapers for the Madison County Diaper Bank and Metro East Diaper Bank to raise awareness about diaper needs for local families.
“Diapers are an expensive necessity, and not everyone in our community can afford diapers. No family should have to choose between the wellbeing of their children and other necessary expenses,” said Stuart, “Thank you to the libraries and businesses in our community who advertised the drive and were drop-off locations for diapers. I appreciate everyone who donated and of the community’s support for families in need.”
Stuart hosted a diaper drive during Diaper Need Awareness Week from September 27th through October 3rd. The donations will go to the Madison County Diaper Bank and Metro East Diaper Banks to help families in need across Madison and St. Clair Counties.
