Yang Rohr to Host Blood Donation Drive in Naperville

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – State Rep. Janet Yang Rohr, D-Naperville, is hosting a blood drive on Saturday, Oct. 9 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Versiti Blood Center at Market Meadows, located at 1297 S. Naper Blvd. in Naperville.

“According to the Red Cross, every 2 seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood and or platelets,” said Yang Rohr. “As we continue to battle the pandemic, donating blood is more important than ever to help alleviate continuing nationwide blood shortages that have been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Yang Rohr is encouraging local residents who are eligible to consider making an appointment for a donation. To schedule an appointment, individuals can visit www.repyangrohr.com/events or www.versiti.org/IL, download the Versiti Donor app or call 1-800-7TO-GIVE. A photo ID and masks are required, and individuals are encouraged to eat a meal and drink water before donating.

“Blood donation is an essential service to save lives,” said Yang Rohr. “If you are healthy and able, please consider joining me at this event and donate blood to support our local hospitals and clinics.”
