ROCKFORD, Ill. – To ensure that job seekers are able to take advantage of all of the resources available to them, state Rep. Dave Vella, D-Rockford, is highlighting the recent reopening of The Workforce Connection in Rockford, which can assist jobseekers with a variety of employment services.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many difficulties for workers and jobseekers, making it more vital than ever that residents have the support they need to find new employment opportunities,” said Vella. “The reopening of our local job center is a major boon to our community, and I highly encourage residents to take advantage of this important resource.”

The Workforce Connection, located at 303 N. Main St. in Rockford, will be open on Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The job center can assist residents with identity verification for an unemployment insurance claim, resume and job search guidance, and a variety of other services. Appointments are not required and residents can receive assistance both in-person and virtually. For more information, please visit the Workforce Connection website at www.theworkforceconnection.org.

“With the pandemic negatively impacting many people’s employment, from the cutting of hours to the complete loss of jobs, it is important that we are providing as many resources as possible to ensure residents are able to find stable and fulfilling work,” said Vella. “No one should have to navigate finding employment alone, and I would like to thank the Workforce Connection for the important work that they do in our community.”
