BOLINGBROOK, Ill. – To ensure students are ready for the new school year, state Rep. Dagmara “Dee” Avelar, D-Bolingbrook, is hosting a back to school fair on Aug. 14 at Irene King Elementary School from 9 a.m. to noon.

“As we head into a new school year, it’s important to make sure our students have all the resources necessary to have a successful school year,” Avelar said. “Hopefully by hosting this fair, students and parents will be able to check multiple to-do items off of their checklists for getting ready to go back to school.”

Avelar’s Back to School Fair will be held on Aug. 14 from 9 a.m. to noon at Irene King Elementary School, located at 302 Eaton Ave. in Romeoville. VNA Health Care will be available to help parents set up appointments for vaccinations and physicals for their children. The West Suburban Community Pantry will also have a booth accepting donations. More booths will be announced soon. The first 200 kids will receive a free backpack with supplies. The event is free and open to the public.

“As a Representative, I want to make sure I am giving my constituents the resources they need to live happy and healthy lives,” continued Avelar. “I hope this fair helps students and parents get ready and excited for the school year!”
