ROCKFORD, Ill. – As part of his commitment to being an open and accessible representative, state Rep. Dave Vella, D-Rockford, is hosting an Ice Cream Social event to give residents an opportunity to share their feedback on his work in Springfield.
“Meeting with my constituents and talking about the issues that matter most to them is important in ensuring I am accurately representing our community’s voice in Springfield,” said Vella. “I highly encourage residents to come grab an ice cream cone and let me know your thoughts on what you would like to see from your state government.”
Vella’s Ice Cream Social will take place on Friday, July 23 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Dairy Depot, located at 5413 N 2nd St in Loves Park. At the event, attendees will be able to meet Vella and share their thoughts and opinions. The Ice Cream Social is just one of many events Vella is hosting this summer to ensure residents have opportunities to make their voices heard. He will be holding a variety of town halls, seminars, and meet and greets similar to the Ice Cream Social as part of his efforts to be accessible this summer and beyond.
“There is nothing that shapes my legislative agenda more than the conversations I have with my constituents,” said Vella. “I look forward to meeting with as many constituents as possible this summer to get their feedback and hear what they would like to see me work on moving forward.”
