OTTAWA, Ill. –  To ensure veterans are receiving proper resources, state Rep. Lance Yednock, D-Ottawa, has been appointed to the Illinois Veterans Advisory Council (IVAC).

“Veterans have made the ultimate sacrifice of risking their lives to ensure our Country’s safety,” said Yednock “It’s imperative that we are supporting those who have supported us for so long.”

Yednock was appointed to IVAC by speaker Emmanuel “Chris” Welch. The Illinois Veterans Advisory Council was established in 2004 to advise the Department of Veteran’s Affairs and study issues that are most significant to Illinois veterans. The council meets quarterly and as needed as seen by the Chair of the Council. Yednock has previously served on the Council in 2019 and 2020.

“I am extremely humbled to be appointed to the Council for a third year, and I look forward to continuing the work we have started to assist veterans as best we can,” said Yednock. “Supporting our veterans is not something that ever comes to an end. It’s an on-going task that we must continue to push and I will continue to stand for veterans and the priorities important to them.”
