OAK LAWN, Ill. – State Rep. Kelly Burke, D-Oak Lawn, is urging residents to take part in Community Blood Center’s blood drive at the Oak Lawn – Hometown Middle School on Saturday, June 12 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The school is located at 5345 W. 99th Street in Oak Lawn.

“Our local blood drives are crucial to helping us get through the end of this pandemic,” Burke said. “I am so proud of my neighbors who continue to donate blood throughout these historically difficult times. The need for blood is more urgent than ever as many blood drives and events were cancelled through the past year, so I encourage those who are able to participate.”

The drive will be held on Saturday, June 12, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School, which is located at 5345 W. 99th Street in Oak Lawn. To protect staff and donors, Community Blood Center is taking several precautions, including taking donors’ temperatures before they enter and spacing donation chairs at least six feet apart.

To schedule your donation, call 1-800-280-4102 or visit communityblood.org/donor and log in, click ‘Donate Now’ and search sponsor code CS12. Appointments are required and please bring a photo ID.
