CHICAGO, Ill. – State Rep. Fran Hurley, D-Chicago, is inviting residents to a virtual informational seminar on health care plans under the public healthcare exchange on Wednesday, May 5 at 6 p.m.

“Due to COVID-19 forcing many people out of jobs, we see a record number of residents needing to look for healthcare through the public exchange rather than from an employer,” said Hurley. “Thankfully, we are now seeing a special enrollment period for those in need of healthcare to sign up through the public exchange and find an affordable healthcare plan that fits their needs.”

Hurley is hosting the informational seminar in partnership with state Sen. Bill Cunningham, D-Chicago. The seminar will feature speakers from Get Covered Illinois and the Department of Healthcare and Human Services who can answer any questions residents may have about health insurance plans. The seminar will be on Wednesday, May 5, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. All interested residents should email repfranhurley@gmail.com to RSVP and receive a Zoom link.

“This seminar is a great opportunity for residents to learn about health care plans available to them,” continued Hurley. “I encourage all eligible residents to attend the Zoom and learn about what health care plans can fit their individual needs during this special enrollment period.”
