CHICAGO – State Rep. Angelica Guerrero-Cuellar, D-Chicago, is working to make local voices heard in Illinois’ redistricting process by highlighting a public hearing of the House Redistricting Committee of Berwyn/Cicero, which was held Saturday, April 3, 2021.
“Transparency is what the redistricting process must be about,” said Guerrero-Cuellar. “Making sure that local voices are heard means a more fair and open process. It’s why I’m proud to have seen and listened to members of our local community participate and express the needs and concerns of our neighborhoods.”
The hearing was part of Guerrero-Cuellar’s commitment to an open and participatory redistricting process, and is one of 23 scheduled hearings across the state where legislators will receive input from groups and individuals. Members of the public are welcome to share their thoughts on demographic trends they see in their areas, communities of interest, and other information about the region that should inform the process of creating new legislative districts.
