SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – In recognition of his strong commitment to protecting local agriculture, farmers, and conservation efforts, state Rep. Lance Yednock, D-Ottawa, has been named Vice-Chairman of the Agriculture & Conservation committee for the 102nd Illinois General Assembly.

“Agriculture and farming are the lifeblood of our state, especially here in the Illinois Valley,” said Yednock. “Supporting agriculture and preserving the integrity of our small farms has been a top priority of mine since day one and I can’t wait to take that focus statewide. There is so much work to be done and I’m ready to get to work in this role.”

In addition to Yednock’s role in the Agriculture & Conservation committee, he has also been appointed to the House Committees on Labor & Commerce, Public Utilities, Transportation: Vehicles & Safety, Veterans’ Affairs, and has been named Chairman of the Utilities Subcommittee for the duration of the 102nd General Assembly.

“My focus is working every day to make sure that workers and families are given the best chance to succeed in today’s economy, during COVID-19 and afterwards,” said Yednock. “These committees allow me the opportunity to review and analyze legislation that affects the lives of many of our residents in the 76th district, and I intend to make our voices and values heard on the important issues that families face.”
