Vella Highlights COVID-19 Vaccination Appointment Assistance Resource

ROCKFORD, Ill. – As the COVID-19 vaccination effort continues to ramp up, state Rep. Dave Vella, D-Rockford, is encouraging residents to utilize the Illinois Department of Public Health’s (IDPH) Vaccine Appointment Call Center to assist with making COVID-19 vaccination appointments. Additionally, Vella’s district office is available to provide assistance to individuals seeking appointments.

“With the importance that the COVID-19 vaccine has on ending this pandemic, it is essential that we provide as many resources as possible to help people get vaccinated,” said Vella. “The Vaccine Appointment Call Center is a great resource for those having trouble signing up to get a vaccine, and I recommend residents take advantage of this service.”

The Vaccine Appointment Call Center will be open 7 days a week from 6 A.M. to midnight to help residents sign up to get their COVID-19 vaccine. For those with internet access, the call center will guide callers through the online sign-up process, while those without internet access can have an appointment made on their behalf. Residents will need to provide their name, address, phone number, date of birth, eligibility, and email (if available). The phone number for the Vaccine Appointment Call Center is 833-621-1284.

Since joining the General Assembly earlier this year, Vella has worked to get his constituents relief. He has introduced legislation to reduce the financial burden on residents by freezing property taxes for those who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI). Vella has also partnered with the Winnebago County Health Department to help residents sign up for COVID-19 vaccine appointments.

“As we work to recover and rebuild from this pandemic, it is vital that we get relief to those who need it most,” said Vella. “I will continue to fight in Springfield to get my constituents the support and resources they need throughout this pandemic and beyond.”
