CHICAGO– To promote mental health awareness and emotional well-being, state Rep. Fran Hurley, D-Chicago, invites residents to a virtual Mindful Monday mediation and yoga seminar on Monday, March 29 at 7 p.m.

“There is no doubt that many people are struggling mentally, emotionally and physically with the various challenges we are all facing,” said Hurley. “Not only are we dealing with the stress of our daily lives, but we are also living through a global pandemic which has turned our world upside down. As we are learning to adapt to these new ways of life, we need to recognize the importance of maintaining good mental health practices so the stressors of our life don’t overtake our lives”

Hurley is partnering with state Rep. Kelly Burke to host a Mindful Monday event via Zoom on March 29 at 7 p.m. Yoga and meditation specialist, Toni St. Paul, will be presenting meditation and stretching techniques to improve emotional and mental well-being. The event is free and open to the public. To RSVP email repfranhurley@gmail.com or call 773-445-8128. A Zoom link will be sent after RSVPing.

“The same way we exercise to keep our bodies healthy, we need to give our minds and our mental health the same attention and care,” continued Hurley. “I’m excited to offer our Mindful Mondays in this virtual setting and encourage residents to sign up and participate.”
