“When I talk to families in the district, the biggest concern is for our healthcare industry during the current global pandemic,” said Avelar. “Whether that means locating COVID-19 testing spots, vaccine availabilities or making sure our first responders are adequately funded and equipped to deal with the unprecedented future. Our healthcare system has been working tirelessly this past year to provide the best care possible and if there is any group of people who deserve to be recognized and celebrated, it is our healthcare heroes.”
Avelar’s Healthcare Hero Awards will recognize local healthcare workers who have been nominated for their bravery, hard work, resilience and courage while working through the pandemic. To nominate a hero, please contact Avelar’s district off at info@repdagmara.org to receive a nomination form. There is no deadline for nominations and all nominees should be residents of the 85th District.
“We still have a lot of work to do to protect our families during the COVID-19 pandemic, but it is important that we recognize those who have been on the front lines from the very start,” Avelar said. “I look forward to recognizing some of our local healthcare heroes and thanking them for their hard work”.
