ROCKFORD, Ill. – In partnership with the Winnebago County Health Department, state Rep. Dave Vella, D-Rockford, is assisting local residents who qualify for the COVID-19 vaccine to sign up for appointments.
“The rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine and the process for making appointments has been scary and confusing to many of my constituents,” said Vella. “To help provide assistance in this process, my office has been working with anyone who asks, who may be having difficulties signing up for a vaccine appointment themselves.”
Individuals who qualify for the COVID-19 vaccine can contact Vella’s district office, fill out a form with their information and they will receive a call back with assistance for signing up for an appointment. Individuals who currently qualify for the vaccine under Phase 1b include health care workers, essential workers, individuals 65 years and older, individuals with disabilities and those who have high-risk medical conditions. For assistance with appointments, individuals should call Vella’s office at 815-329-6741 or email ricardo@staterepdavevella.com.
“Our office has been successful in the past several weeks with helping residents secure appointments and I hope more people will continue to reach out to us as a resource,” Vella said. “It’s important that we all do our part to look out for our neighbors by making the vaccine more accessible and reducing the spread of COVID-19.”
