SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – After Gov. JB Pritzker’s budget address, state Rep. Curtis J. Tarver II, D-Chicago, released the following statement:

“Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our families and business are struggling and the state is facing serious financial challenges. After the last Administration failed to provide adequate COVID-19 relief to our families and our state, Congress now needs to pass a robust financial aid package for states.

“Governor Pritzker’s budget address is only the first step in a long process of developing a fair, responsible and balanced budget. The budget needs to provide essential services that residents rely on to live, in addition to adequate school funding, and aid for seniors, families, businesses and displaced workers. I look forward to working with all my colleagues in Springfield so that workers, students and the state’s most vulnerable residents can thrive.”
