ROUND LAKE BEACH, Ill. – State Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, released the following statement in response to Gov. JB Pritzker’s budget address on Wednesday:

“As our state faces unprecedented challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, state government has essential work to do to help residents thrive. Passing a fiscally responsible budget that cuts wasteful spending while protecting resources that help the people and small businesses hit hardest by the pandemic need to be a major priority. More than ever, we must help ease the financial burden on residents, which is why identifying opportunities to cut property taxes will be key for recovery.

“I look forward to working with the Governor, my colleagues, and community members to ensure that the budget adequately addresses unemployment relief, vaccination efforts and long-term financial stability.”

Yingling represents the 62nd District, which includes portions of Gages Lake, Grayslake, Hainesville, the Round Lake Communities, Third Lake, Wauconda, and Wildwood.
