AURORA, Ill. – As a way to give back to the brave women and men on the frontlines of the pandemic, state Rep. Barbara Hernandez, D-Aurora, partnered with local elected officials to provide lunches to health care workers at the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) COVID-19 testing site in Aurora on Thursday.

“Throughout the pandemic, health care and essential workers have continued to put their lives on the line in order to keep our families safe and prevent the spread of COVID-19,” said Hernandez. “Words cannot express the gratitude that so many members of our community have for our frontline workers, but I’m glad to be able to show my support. We must continue to do our part to protect ourselves and essential workers by washing our hands, practicing social distancing and wearing a mask.”

Joining Hernandez in supporting the IDPH testing site workers were Kane County Board Members Myrna Molina and Monica Silva, Aurora Ald. Emanuel Llamas, and Aurora Township Trustee Brenda Hernandez.
