“For students and parents alike, college admissions and financial aid applications can be overwhelming, and you don’t want to miss out on any resources available to you,” said Hernandez. “Whether you are just beginning your college career or you’re looking to further pursue higher education, the experts at ISAC can help provide important information about financial aid options and hopefully help ease the process.”
Hernandez’s webinar will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. in English and at 7 p.m. in Spanish via WebEx. During the webinar, ISAC staff will outline the general financial aid process and provide insight on eligibility, application processes and how students can use financial aid to pay for tuition and living expenses. The webinar will review the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid, along with summarizing state and federal aid programs and other topics. The webinar is free, but registration is required. To participate in the English webinar, individuals can register at https://bit.ly/3picbZi. “Many students and families are still struggling with hardships and uncertainties from the pandemic, but filling out the FAFSA is a simple tool that will allow them to make informed, confident decisions about their future,” said Hernandez. “I encourage anyone who will be applying to college in the near future and those with questions about the FAFSA to register for this webinar.”
