AURORA, Ill. – State Rep. Barbara Hernandez, D-Aurora, is inviting residents of her district to help shape her 2021 legislative agenda by sending in ideas for new laws to her district office.
“We have faced unprecedented challenges and adversity this year as we continue to navigate the pandemic, fight social injustices and help bring economic relief to Illinois families, and it is crucial that our state government is stepping up to address these issues and more,” said Hernandez. “It is my main priority as a state representative that the members in our community can come to me with their thoughts and ideas for new laws that will directly impact their daily lives.”
As the 102nd General Assembly began earlier this month, Hernandez is encouraging constituents to share ideas they have for new legislation that could help improve the state of Illinois. Local residents can email their ideas to RepBarbaraHernandez@gmail.com. Ideas should be submitted no later than Jan. 25.
“We have a lot of work to do in Springfield next year, and that work begins with the ideas and concerns of our communities,” said Hernandez. “That’s why I encourage all local residents who have ideas for new legislation in 2021 to send me their ideas so we can move Illinois forward together.”
