SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. John D’Amico, D-Chicago, issued the following statement after being sworn into the 102nd General Assembly in Springfield on Wednesday:
“In such a short matter of time, Illinoisans have faced so many obstacles and have jumped over so many hurdles brought on by the global pandemic. The economic recession has exposed so many shortcomings in federal, state, and local governments while taking the lives of over twenty thousand of our fellow Illinoisans. Now is the time for new ideas and bold measures to provide real relief for struggling families and small businesses who are both trying to make ends meet.”
“I am forever humbled to represent our community, especially now. The 15th district is our home and bringing our area through COVID is an opportunity to build a healthier and stronger economy for everyone within our community. The challenges we face together are difficult but not insurmountable. Together, let’s strengthen our state by starting right here in our local communities with relief and investment.”
