MARYVILLE, Ill. – In support of first responders and their work during the COVID-19 pandemic, state Rep. Katie Stuart, D-Edwardsville, recently hosted a mobile blood drive in partnership with state Sen. Rachelle Crowe, D-Glen Carbon, state Sen. Christopher Belt, D-Cahokia and the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center.
“I want to thank everyone who donated blood in honor of our first responders and helped to make this event a success,” said Stuart. “Hospitals across the region are still in dire need of blood to help patients during the pandemic, so I’m appreciative of our community’s efforts to meet that need.”
Blood donations from Stuart’s drive will go to local hospital patients who receive blood transfusions for treatments or surgeries.
