Testing is free but by appointment only. People who are interested can schedule a test at http://bit.ly/flickparkcovid.
“To help ensure everyone remains safe and healthy, my colleagues and I worked to set up a free COVID-19 testing site in our community,” Gong-Gershowitz said. “Accessible and convenient testing is necessary to mitigate the spread of the virus and to get our state back on track.”
“Those who are not able to get tested for the coronavirus often continue to spread this illness for days before manifesting symptoms. Cutting down on that time will be crucial to controlling the growth of this disease, especially a possible surge following holiday gatherings,” Gong-Gershowitz said.
Gong-Gershowitz set up this testing site in partnership with state Rep. Robyn Gabel, state Sen. Laura Fine, Cook County Commissioner Scott Britton, Congressman Brad Schneider, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky and the Glenview Park District.
“Talented researchers and health care workers have committed long hours to finding a vaccine for COVID-19, and it is finally in our grasp. However, distributing that will take time, and free testing sites like this one are going to be essential for Illinois to beat the coronavirus,” Gong-Gershowitz said.
