Yingling Highlights Attorney General’s Safe Shopping Guide

ROUND LAKE BEACH, Ill. – With the holiday season fast approaching, state Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, is encouraging residents to look over the Illinois Attorney General’s Safe Shopping Guide.

“With the holidays almost here, the time to shop for gifts for friends and family is fast approaching,” said Yingling. “In order to ensure that the gifts you’re buying are safe, I highly encourage you to check the Safe Shopping Guide. Buying a faulty or recalled product as a gift is not something anyone wants to have to deal with this time of year.”

Every year, the Illinois Attorney General’s Office releases their Safe Shopping Guide, which highlights products that have been recalled by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The guide includes descriptions and pictures of a variety of products, such as toys and clothes, that can pose risks to children. Even though these products have been recalled, some may still sell these products without warning buyers about their recall status. The guide, as well as a link to guides from previous years, can be found on the Illinois Attorney General’s website at https://www.illinoisattorneygeneral.gov/consumers/2020_Safe_Shopping_Guide.pdf.
