COLLINSVILLE, Ill. – In preparation for a new legislative session beginning in mid-January, state Rep. Katie Stuart, D-Edwardsville, is inviting residents to share their ideas for new state laws or improvements to existing ones.

“Local families and business owners continue to face significant challenges due to the pandemic and are understandably looking to state government for help and support,” said Stuart. “If you have specific ideas for new laws that respond to the current crisis, or to any other issues, I would love to discuss them with you.”

Residents can submit their thoughts and ideas on legislation to Rep. Stuart’s constituent service office via email at repkatiestuart@gmail.com or by calling 618-365-6650. To accommodate House deadlines, Stuart is asking that submissions be received no later than Friday, Jan. 8.

“New legislation offers new opportunities to improve our communities,” said Stuart. “The best solutions come from working together, and I look forward to continued conversations with residents and community leaders about how to address both individual and broader concerns.”
