CHICAGO – As the holiday season approaches, state Rep. Justin Slaughter, D-Chicago, is encouraging parents and all those shopping for gifts for children this year to review the Illinois Attorney General’s annual Safe Shopping Guide.
“As a father, I know how important it is to make sure that the toys our children play with are safe,” said Slaughter. “The Attorney General’s shopping guide can provide peace of mind for parents and others who may be purchasing gifts for children by helping shoppers avoid buying toys and other items that are potentially hazardous and have been recalled.”
Slaughter is urging parents and holiday shoppers to review the Illinois Attorney General’s 2020 Safe Shopping Guide, which includes items that have been recalled by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission due to choking hazards, flammability, toxic levels of lead and other potential dangers.
