Hernandez to Host Webinar to Highlight Health Care Coverage Enrollment

AURORA, Ill. –  To help residents who wish to enroll in health care coverage during the current open enrollment period through the Illinois insurance marketplace, state Rep. Barbara Hernandez, D-Aurora, is hosting an informational webinar with the Illinois Department of Insurance on Tuesday, Dec. 8 at 5 p.m.

“The Affordable Care Act allows for Illinois residents to get health care coverage, and with many Illinoisans facing unemployment due to the COVID-19 crises, it is more important than ever that families have a health care plan that works for them and their budget,” said Hernandez. “As the December 15 deadline to enroll approaches, I am pleased to partner with the Illinois Department of Insurance to help individuals navigate their options and assist with any questions they may have.”

During Hernandez’s virtual event, representatives from the Illinois Department of Insurance will present information on Get Covered Illinois, Illinois’ health insurance marketplace, including health care coverage options, how to navigate the Get Covered website and a question-and-answer portion for those participating in the event. Interested participants can register for the Zoom webinar by visiting Hernandez’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/RepHernandez83rd or can get the Zoom link by contacting her office. A recording of the event will also be posted to her page Facebook page for those who are unable to attend.
