VILLA PARK, Ill. – With the resurgence of coronavirus cases steadily inclining at alarming rates, state Rep. Deb Conroy, D – Villa Park, announced a new DuPage County community-based drive-thru testing site at the Odeum in Villa Park.
“As the rising trend in coronavirus cases continues to reach unprecedented new highs, DuPage County Health Department has proceeded with opening and operating a new testing site to meet the needs of local residents during this increasingly difficult time,” said Conroy. “With the holiday season now upon us, local public health officials and other community leaders are acutely aware of the rising demand for access to free and efficient testing.”
The new testing site is located at the Odeum Expo Center at 1033 N. Villa Ave. and is scheduled to operate Sunday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., or until testing capacity exceeds 600 tests. No appointments are necessary and insurance is not required for testing. A drive through testing site is also open at the DuPage County Fairgrounds in Wheaton Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until noon or until 600 tests are performed. Anyone may be tested at either site regardless of symptoms.
“It has never been clearer that the growing need for widely available community-based testing is increasingly necessary to confront the emerging spread of COVID in our communities,” Conroy continued. “Until an FDA-approved vaccine is available for widespread and mass distribution, access to efficient and reliable testing will continue to be our number one priority.”
