LOMBARD – State Rep. Terra Costa Howard, D-Glen Ellyn, congratulated Dr. Ted Stec on Tuesday for being named a “2020 Superintendent to Watch” by the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA).

“I can’t imagine anyone more deserving of this award than Dr. Stec,” Costa Howard said. “He has been an exceptional superintendent to all of the schools in District 44, and now educators across the nation are watching his success and learning from his example as well.”

The Superintendent to Watch program salutes 25 rising educational leaders across the country. Dr. Stec – the only Illinois superintendent on the list –  was recognized for combining innovative and effective use of communications technologies with traditional outreach methods.

“Ted is an exceptional communicator, and he has risen to the challenge of keeping students, teachers, staff, and families informed during this past difficult year,” Costa Howard said. “On behalf of everyone in the community, I want to thank Dr. Stec for working each and every day to put our students first and joining forces with his staff to create a great environment for our children to learn and grow.”
