LOMBARD – State Rep. Terra Costa Howard, D-Glen Ellyn, is asking residents to stop by the Yorktown Center and First Church of Lombard on Wednesday, Nov. 11, for blood drives hosted by the Village of Lombard and Versiti Blood Center of Illinois.

“This drive will be to honor our veterans and to remember Lombard President Bill Mueller who was a strong supporter of blood drives and other life-saving events,” Costa Howard said. “We are trying to end the last blood drive of the year with a large turnout, so schedule an appointment to donate today.”

The first blood drive site will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the mobile coach parked by the main entrance on the lower level outside Von Maur in the Yorktown Center in Lombard. The second site will be from 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the First Church of Lombard, located at 220 S. Main St. in Lombard. Those interested in donating blood should pre-register for a time slot online at www.villageoflombard.org/402/Blood-Drives.

“Versiti takes all of the necessary safety and sanitation precautions to ensure safety for donors and staff, so no one is put at risk during the blood donation process,” said Costa Howard. “With all donations also being tested for COVID-19 antibodies, I am encouraging our healthy residents to donate blood to Versiti this Veterans Day.”
