CHICAGO – State Rep. Fran Hurley, D-Chicago, is encouraging local residents to join her for a virtual self-defense seminar via Zoom later this month.

“Even though we have all been staying home more than normal due to the COVID-19 pandemic it is always a good idea to stay refreshed on self-defense techniques,” said Hurley. “Learning basic self-defense is a great way to empower yourself and take control of your own safety.”

Hurley is hosting a virtual self-defense seminar via the Zoom video conferencing platform on Friday, July 17 at 2 p.m. RSVP is required to attend. Residents wishing to participate should contact Hurley’s office to receive a link and login information for the video conference.

“While we each use our best judgement to stay safe, you never know when you may find yourself in an emergency situation, so learning basic self-defense methods is an easy way to be prepared for the unknown,” continued Hurley. “I encourage residents to join me for my virtual self-defense seminar for an interactive discussion on easy tips to help keep yourself safe.”

To RSVP and reserve your spot, call Rep. Hurley’s office at 773-445-8128 or email RepFranHurley@gmail.com.
