SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – To help residents take control of their finances during the COVID-19 health crisis, state Rep. Michelle Mussman, D-Schaumburg, is highlighting resources to access free weekly credit reports.

“The COVID-19 crisis has created many obstacles for local families, and has put some residents in difficult financial situations and made it harder to stay afloat,” said Mussman. “As our families continue to navigate this unprecedented time, it is extremely important to have access to accurate financial information, like credit reports and credit history, to make wise financial decisions.”

In response to the negative economic impact that has been caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Mussman is promoting free, weekly credit reports to help residents access their financial records. Everyone is now eligible to receive their weekly credit report for free through Equifax, Experian and TransUnion until April 2021. For more information, please visit www.AnnualCreditReport.com.

“As so many families are struggling to make ends meet, having access to up-to-date financial information can help residents make informed decisions and take control of their finances,” continued Mussman. “I encourage residents to take advantage of this free resource to manage their financial wellbeing as we continue to navigate this uncertain time.”

Mussman represents the 56th District, which contains portions of Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates, Elk Grove Village, Hanover Park, Roselle, Rolling Meadows and Palatine.
