DES PLAINES, Ill. – State Rep. Marty Moylan, D-Des Plaines, and state Sen. Laura Murphy, D-Des Plaines, recently provided residents with a community document shredding service and mask giveaway.
“We take pride in providing useful services to residents, and it was fantastic to see so many of them from across the community turn out to take advantage of this shred day and mask giveaway,” Moylan said. “I am especially happy that we were able to adapt this year’s community shred event to maintain social distancing and provide protective face masks to residents as we continue the battle against COVID-19.”
The community shred day and mask giveaway was hosted on Saturday, June 20 in Des Plaines. Over the duration of the event, more than 500 residents visited to make use of the service. In addition to the disposal of all documents that were brought, nearly 1,000 protective face masks were distributed to residents free of charge.
