Tarver Highlights Get Hired Illinois Website for Jobseekers

CHICAGO – As many workers statewide have been laid off or furloughed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, state Rep. Curtis J. Tarver II, D-Chicago, is encouraging jobseekers and employers to utilize the state’s new Get Hired Illinois in their searches for new opportunities and employees.

“The pandemic has caused an unprecedented unemployment crisis, affecting many local families and businesses,” said Tarver. “The Get Hired Illinois website gives another resource for those displaced from their jobs, and helps them find new opportunities to get back on their feet.” 

Tarver is encouraging jobseekers and employers to take advantage of the state’s new Get Hired Illinois website, at https://www2.illinois.gov/gethired/. With over 60,000 available job opportunities featured, the site allows companies looking to hire to post job openings online and search resumes, and gives those looking for jobs a resource to find a number of opportunities in their area and even participate in virtual job fairs.

“As we navigate these difficult times, Get Hired Illinois is geared toward helping employers recover and ensuring working families can rebuild,” said Tarver. “As we work toward economic recovery, I will continue to lead the charge, working with local business to create job development with our communities.”
