VILLA PARK, Ill. – State Rep. Deb Conroy, D-Villa Park, is alerting residents looking for employment opportunities and employers looking for workers to visit the new Get Hired Illinois website from the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO).

“With so many people out of work due to COVID-19, Get Hired Illinois aims to connect job seekers with employment opportunities,” Conroy said. “This website also gives employers the chance to let their community know that they are open for business and in need of workers.”

Get Hired Illinois is now available for job seekers and employers at www.illinois.gov/gethired. There are over 60,000 available job opportunities in total, branching various fields. Illinois is also partnering with Coursera to provide free online courses to advance professional development and refine career path options.

“My office has received dozens of calls from concerned residents wondering about how they’re going to be able to make a living during and after this pandemic,” Conroy added. “Get Hired Illinois is one option for those who are looking for available work at this time. Returning to work can provide a sense of normalcy that we have lost over the past 2 months, and I encourage anyone looking for employment opportunities to find out what’s available on Get Hired Illinois.”
