SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – To connect local jobseekers with relevant resources, state Rep. Michelle Mussman, D-Schaumburg, is highlighting the new Get Hired Illinois program.

“The impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic are widespread and include unemployment rates that have continued to skyrocket,” said Mussman. “While our state has worked to address the COVID-19 health crisis, I am glad to see the implementation of Get Hired Illinois to help address unemployment and get residents back to work as soon as possible.”

Get Hired Illinois is a compiled database of resources that provide information to help connect jobseekers to employers. Some of these resources include virtual job fairs, listings of current job openings, and links to various other resources. For more information, please visit the Get Hired Illinois website at https://www2.illinois.gov/GetHired/Pages/default.aspx.

“We are still facing so much uncertainty in our future, which only adds to the stress for laid off and furloughed workers that are now facing financial hardship,” continued Mussman. “Get Hired Illinois is a good step in the right direction to help bring stability back to those that have lost their jobs due to COVID-19, so I encourage jobseekers to take advantage of the available resources.”

Mussman represents the 56th District, which contains portions of Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates, Elk Grove Village, Hanover Park, Roselle, Rolling Meadows and Palatine.
