AURORA, Ill. – To help ease the economic burdens of the COVID-19 pandemic, state Rep. Barbara Hernandez, D-Aurora, is highlighting a new website to connect Illinois job seekers and employers.

“For those who have lost their job due to the pandemic, or for businesses in need of more employees, Illinois’ new Get Hired resource could be extremely helpful,” said Hernandez. “The Get Hired website is a tool for businesses to post job openings and search resumes, and serves as a one-stop-shop for job seekers to easily search job openings in their area, take advantage of virtual job fairs and find career training opportunities.”

Hernandez is promoting the Get Hired website launched by Gov. J.B. Pritzker, the Illinois Department of Economic Opportunity and the Illinois Department of Employment Security. The website provides information on both job opportunities and unemployment information. It is designed to be user-friendly for all job seekers, and is free to use. Residents and employers can find Get Hired resources at: https://www2.illinois.gov/gethired/.

“I am committed to keeping our community strong and informed throughout the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Hernandez. “With millions of Illinoisans out of work because of this pandemic, I encourage job seekers and employers to utilize the Get Hired site.”
