OTTAWA, Ill. – To help recognize National Nurses Week, state Rep. Lance Yednock, D-Ottawa, is praising the courageous efforts of local nurses and health care professionals who are performing life-saving work on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Even in normal circumstances, nurses have most of the demanding and trying occupations, and are depended upon to keep our communities safe and healthy.” said Yednock. “Nurses are working around the clock right now in unprecedented conditions in Illinois to protect the lives of our loved ones during the pandemic.”
Throughout National Nurses Week, Yednock is asking members of the public to join him in showing support and appreciation for local nurses, and the retired nurses who have returned to health care facilities to alleviate the strain placed on the state’s healthcare professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The work of nurses and our healthcare professionals has played a major role in the progress we have made in fighting this pandemic,” said Yednock. “As we begin the road to recovery, we must remember to thank all of our essential workers, first responders, and health care professionals like our doctors and nurses who have put their lives on the line to serve others.”
