ROUND LAKE BEACH, Ill. – With many services across the state being delayed or unavailable, state Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, is reminding residents about the extension of expiration dates for driver’s licenses, vehicle registrations and other transactions handled by the Secretary of State.

“The last thing people need to be worried about is their driver’s license expiring,” Yingling said. “Residents can be assured that they can focus on keeping themselves and their families healthy during this time.”

Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White’s office announced that the expiration dates of driver’s licenses, vehicle registration documentation, as well as other transactions, will be extended to at least 90 days after the Driver Services Facilities reopen. White’s office is encouraging drivers to visit their website at https://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/ as online services remain available and open.

“It is important for state government to do everything in its power to take burdens off of residents during these stressful times,” Yingling said. “I want to thank Secretary of State Jesse White for taking this step, and look forward to continuing to find ways to make the lives of Illinois residents easier.”
